Chinese Sprint Race

The two Mercedes of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli started together on the front row for the Sprint race, but Antonelli had a terrible start and dropped back to mid-field. He later found himself slapped with a ten-second time penalty for a collision with Isack Hadjar, which he served during a pit stop when almost everyone came in under a safety car period. Antonelli was able to overcome these setbacks to finish in fourth place. Lewis Hamilton had an exciting battle with George Russell in the opening laps, with the pair repeatedly swapping the lead, but Russell eventually reclaimed and held first place. Hamilton's teammate Charles Leclerc overtook Hamilton to finish ahead of him.

Qualifying

Kimi Antonelli became the youngest driver to take pole for a Formula One Grand Prix, at the age of 19. The previous record was set by Sebastian Vettel, at the age of 21. Mercedes continues appearing to be the team to beat, with Ferrari and McLaren scrapping it out for second and third amongst the constructors. Red Bull continues lagging behind a bit so far into this season, though I'd be surprised if they remain back there forever. Audi look to continue having a relatively decent start to their debut season, while Cadillac continues their role as the caboose.
