Yesterday we reported on our social media accounts (it failed to post to Mastodon for some reason) early into running of the first stage of the Southern Ohio Forest Rally that something was wrong. We didn't know what exactly that was for some time, but knew a firetruck and ambulances were dispatched to the end of that stage; technically we'll beyond it. During the unplanned intermission, we investigated, asking staff about what happened. Often fans are entertained by race accidents but we at Absolute Zero Motorsport were instead concerned and wanted reassurance that whoever was involved was okay.

Later we heard something happened to a co-driver, but that was as far as we got. Today we've learned from DirtFish that Alex Gelsomino, Conner Martell's co-driver in the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 from 2C Compétition, suffered spinal compression fractures from the signature jump at the end of the Yoctangee stage. He wasn't cleared to return to the car but should be alright. He won't require surgery. They posted the fastest stage time, as a silver lining focused on by the team.

We at Absolute Zero Motorsport care about the drivers and all involved in motorsport, so we are relieved that he wasn't injured more severely than he was and we wish him a smooth and speedy recovery. From all of us at AZM, God bless.
